The Domestic Violence Action Center 

The Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) is anchored in the community serving victims of relationship and family violence through an unduplicated array of programs designed with their needs in sharp focus. We know that the agency's presence has made an enormous difference in the lives of thousands of people in Hawaii. Our challenge is to continue raising awareness about this complex and costly problem and maintain a stable robust budget to meet the demand.

Support from federal, state and local government is supplemented by foundation grants, events, client fees and private contributions. Our philosophy that safe families are at the core of a healthy community is foundational to our collaborations. We simply cannot address this problem without the help of business, academia, law enforcement, courts, social services and health care practitioners.

That's why we have partnered with the Guild Giving Foundation to raise funds to support the desperately needed services provided every day by the Domestic Violence Action Center programs.

In the previous 18 years, DVAC has completed 65,533 safety plans, conducted 60,429 risk assessments, made 8,679 court appearances, opened 6,802 legal cases, had telephone contact with 288,163 callers and trained 73,731 students, educators and service providers.
